Hawke Bay is a large bay on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand stretching from Mahia Peninsula in the northeast to Cape Kidnappers in the southwest, a distance of some 100 kilometres. Popular sandy beaches such as Waimarama, Ocean Beach, Waipatiki are frequented in the summer months by many Hawkes Bay residents. Recreational fishing is also popular along the regions coastline and river mouths plus boat access can be found at Waimarama, Clifton, Te Awanga, Clive River, Ngaruroro River and Napier.
