This Week's Lifestyle Properties and Open Homes

WOW! What a day was had today! Our Bid Day Out Auction gala event was held in our Hastings office with 34 properties featured from Central Hawkes Bay through to Napier. A total of 13 sold under the hammer with another nine in negotiations. A huge crowd packed out our Auction room with eager and motivated vendors, competing buyers who bought the heat with their bidding, as well as those who came along to witness the results! Another successful Bid Day Out - getting bigger and better every year!

In other news, the market is still tracking around 140+ lifestyle listings for the region with a few new ones coming on here and there.  We anticipate this number staying pretty consistent with new listings in autumn balancing the good rate of sales taking place.  There were 13 lifestyle sales reported for January with an interesting point being that all but two of them were in the last ten days of January. The following is an excerpt from Tony Alexander's recent article about the 4.99% 3 year rate Westpac just announced, I think it’s good perspective and a good indication of positivity to come: “Excluding the silly 2019 to early 2022 period, the 4.99% rate has been bettered in only 19 of the 336 non-deflation/pandemic months since the three-year option appeared in late 1993. Will 4.99% be the low this cycle? Maybe not – but it doesn’t feel too far away from whatever it will be”
