OCR cuts to 2.5%, a 50-basis point cut which was more than what people had been anticipating.  This is welcomed news as it will surely boost confidence in decision making around buying, but the rationale behind the cut (a reduction that exceeds the last 3), is loosely based on the market pressure around how slow the economic rebound has been.  Why this is important is that it speaks to the current economic climate and how people are feeling about it.  What we have been experiencing and hearing anecdotally is that people are still being very cautious not to overspend and making buying decisions comes with a lot of analysis around personal finances and stability.  That said, it is clear that confidence is building, and my sense is that the market is aligned with that, and price expectations are becoming more aligned with the market.  Buying opportunities continue to grow as a result, so let’s make sure we are connecting and talking about the options available so we can help with your next move.
