This Week's Lifestyle Properties and Open Homes

It's always a busy time of year with plenty going on behind the scenes - completing new property appraisals, working with our vendors and buyers negotiating offers, pre- and post-Christmas / New Year plans being laid and generally keeping on top of the busy-ness that accumulates rapidly heading into the "holiday" season!

We have some great lifestyle properties on offer at the moment with motivated vendors keen to settle in the New Year. In the meantime, there are a couple of key points to keep in mind with regards to time frames as these will affect any conditions you may have to fulfill:

  •  Working days over the Christmas New Year are defined by Section 13 of the Legislation Act 2019 as: "a day of the week other than—(b)  a day in the period commencing with 25 December in a year and ending with 2 January in the following year; and (d)  if 1 January falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday and Tuesday".

  • In addition to the extended time period for conditional contracts, it's worth remembering that traditionally lawyers take a good break over the holiday period with many returning to the office around mid-January.
