This Week's Lifestyle Properties and Open Homes

Tony Alexander wrote a piece in the property section today, as he commonly does, but I thought it was a very good and succinct synopsis of what is happening right now.  Even the title was great in the face of all the chatter taking place in the market: “The golden rule when the worlds on fire – nobody knows anything”.  The points he made are relevant to todays market, it is too dangerous to try to predict where things are going, it’s equally useless to focus on uncertain factors and it’s probably best to focus on where the economy was going.  With changing interest rates, it is likely best to lock in 3-5 year rates and with the expectation that the surprises that were expected in the market to now not take place until next year, it’s still a great opportunity to buy as people will be motivated to see a result and I suspect relieved to not wait until next year for good news.
